Language Learning

The Ktunaxa language carries our stories, values and relationships.

Through a variety of language learning and sharing sessions, learners can practice their skills in an informal, supportive environment.

Offered through the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network (CBEEN), these eight-week courses introduce the sounds, words and cultural context of the Ktunaxa language.

Open to both Indigenous & non-Indigenous participants!

Sign up for the CBEEN newsletter to find the next available intake.

There are a select number of language learning resources available to Ktunaxa ʔaqǂsmaknik̓, educators and academic researchers.

View the Language Resource Inventory here.

If you have some language learning resources you would like to share, please complete the form here.

First Voices hosts a Ktunaxa language site, offering an online dictionary, audio recordings, stories, songs and more.  It’s even offered in app form!

Download the Ktunaxa Language & Ktunaxa Grammar apps, available on the Apple Store & Google Play.
